Why Redefine? To create new meanings for the stories in your life— on your own terms.

“To manifest prosperity, you have to redefine yourself from a recipient to a co-creator. You have to stop looking for opportunities to present themselves and start creating them.”

—Randy Gage

It is a human tendency to create labels, assign meanings, and interpret how you see the world around you. It helps you process information, reach an understanding, or helps you wrap your mind around a concept.

Unfortunately, many of the definitions you may assign throughout your life can not only narrow your perspective, but they can prevent you from considering better alternatives.

An “in the box” mentality can be overly self-protective, short-sighted and small-minded. Many people are so adamantly defensive of their opinions and being right, it becomes self-limiting—which blocks new meanings and broader definitions from flowing in.

When you redefine something, you stretch your perceptions to include new ideas and change thinking patterns. You discover new meanings and see your previous opinion or beliefs from an expanded vantage point, to bring feelings of hope and possibility.

Instead of thinking . . . Redefine its meaning . . .
Money is scarce and unavailable. Money is abundant and I am prosperous.
She was so mean and dismissive to me. Her behavior is more about her than me.
Getting laid off has been terrifying. I now have the opportunity to do something I love.
My adult kids will not take my advice. I am proud my kids are self-reliant.
Getting divorced destroyed my life. I am now free to discover myself and live my dream.

8 Things in Life to Redefine . . .

  1.    failure to make it your best teacher.
  2.    change as an opportunity for growth and expansion.
  3.    your experiences by learning new lessons.
  4.    your memories to focus on the good.
  5.    your strengths and qualities for personal power and resilience.
  6.    your faults to embrace your imperfection.
  7.    your pain to heal an old wound.
  8.    the behavior of others and stop taking their actions personally.

As you broaden your perspective and further open up and gain new understanding, strive to go with the ebb and flow, as you redefine your beliefs, opinions, perceptions, and experiences. The outcomes will enrich your world-view—while all the time, remaining true to you.

Identify and consider new options which would make your life be more meaningful, brighten your way of thinking, and serve to enhance your individual needs—right now, today.
