In REVIEW for Positive Change & Transformation

Why Requalify? If you have ever been denied, rejected, or lost your ranking—step up, step out, and keep trying until you qualify; ultimately achieving your goal.

You change. People change. Circumstances change. Finances change. Employment changes. Relationships change. And at each step, the qualifications to participate may too.

An interesting thing about one’s qualifications is that they shift and change on a continuously evolving scale. Just because you did not qualify for something in the past does not mean you will not qualify now. Just because you do not qualify for something now does not mean you will not qualify for it in the future.

The NBA superstar, Michael Jordan, did not originally qualify for his high school basketball team; however, he never gave up and kept on trying. Because of his tenacity, he not only requalified himself, he went on to win six national NBS championships and changed sports history.

If you truly want to qualify for something, discover what needs to be fixed, changed, or resolved to make it possible. One of the best examples of re-qualifying I’ve seen is in mortgage applications. I remember having clients who couldn’t qualify financially to buy a home. However, once they consolidated debt, sold a car, or paid off a student loan, they would qualify for their dream home.

Whether it’s an athlete trying out for a sports team, a hopeful student being accepted into a Master’s program, a political candidate qualifying for office, or a newlywed couple buying their first home, life comes with qualifications.

We have all heard stories about authors who submitted hundreds of query letters and book proposals which were continually rejected. Yet because of their persistence and refusal to give up, they finally got published and became best-selling authors.

When we don’t qualify for some reason, it may be the perfect opportunity to step back, look at our goal and ask, “Do I really want it?” If you’re dedicated to making it happen, the only way you can fail is to stop trying. Be creative. Be constructive. Never give up if it is something you deeply, passionately, enthusiastically desire.

“The ability to qualify for, receive, and act on personal revelation is the single most important skill that can be acquired in this life.”
