Why Relax and Relieve? Relaxing will relieve much of what ails you as your health, mindfulness, and well-being are restored—which in turn will promote a longer and more enjoyable life.
It is a stressful world out there and your ability to navigate, handle, and reduce that stress will greatly impact your health, well-being, and happiness. Learn how to relax and find relief regularly so that you are not consumed by the demands of an unrelenting world.
Ask yourself: What might I need relief from? Anxiety? Depression? Stress? Work? Drama? Negative people? Physical pain? Agitation? Responsibilities? Being overworked and underpaid? Information overload? Interpersonal relationships?
The Center for Healthy Minds at the University of Wisconsin has become the global leader for understanding how our minds and emotions impact our well-being. Researchers have found that mindfulness, defined as a mental state achieved by focusing one’s awareness on the present moment while calmly acknowledging and accepting one’s feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations, can be used as a therapeutic technique. I suggest that you recognize and utilize mindfulness as an integral part of maintaining your health, vitality, and resilience.
There was a time when “motivation, positivity, and inspiration” simply described being positive and having an optimistic attitude. Science, however, can now prove that these mental states can improve the quality of life, and add to longevity, for everyone.
