In REDO for Positive Change & Transformation

Why Release? To lighten your load and let go of the burdens in your heart so that you may live a life of freedom, ease, and inner peace.

Dragging around pain and attachments from the past can jeopardize your health, your relationships, and your happiness. It can undermine your motivation, discourage your progress, and make everything in life harder. Ralph Waldo Emerson has been known for saying that “simplicity is the key to happiness.”

What can you release to simplify your life, lighten your load, and find more joy? Get real, avoid denial, and thoughtfully address each of the items on the list below to determine which may ring true for you. With each one, say out loud, “I release this” as often as is necessary. Throw it away. Imagine it evaporating. Accept it as gone. Let it go . . .

13 Things to Release for Living Lighter with Less Stress

  1.  Limiting or untrue beliefs
  2.  Guilt and regret
  3.  Stressed and overwhelmed lifestyle
  4.  Fear, worry, and anxiety
  5.  Judgment and condemnation
  6.  Gossip and speaking ill of others
  7.  Old clutter to make room for the new
  8.  Bad habits that make you feel terrible
  9.  The masks to reveal your authentic self
  10. Resentments, grudges, and lack of forgiveness
  11. Attachment to specific and negative outcomes
  12. Negative thoughts and your stinkin’ thinkin’
  13. Control of other people’s lives

A monarch butterfly’s healthy development requires continuous release to grow, transform, and thrive. When the caterpillar is hanging upside down, it must release its outer layer of skin for the chrysalis to form. Then, after a period of inner transformation, the newly formed butterfly must break through and release the chrysalis. Once free of its protective cocoon, it spreads its wings, allows the sun to warm and dry them, and then an amazing new journey begins.

Like the butterfly, as you release what weighs you down or holds you back, you will begin a lighter and more peaceful journey.

“Letting go helps us to live in a more peaceful state of mind and helps restore our balance. It allows others to be responsible for themselves and for us to take our hands off situations that do not belong to us. This frees us from unnecessary stress.”                  —Melody Beattie
